Mobile Repair Shop Guide Pakistan: iPhone and Samsung Repair, Original vs Copy Parts

Last updated: 13 October 2026

How do I find a trustworthy mobile repair shop in Pakistan?

A broken screen or a battery that dies by lunchtime sends most people to the nearest repair counter. That can be fine, but the shop decides which part goes inside your phone, and you usually cannot see it. This guide covers what to ask, how to check the work on the phone itself afterwards, and when the official service centre is worth the wait. We do not rank or recommend private shops.

Official service centre or market repair shop?

An official or authorised service centre uses the brand's parts and keeps the brand's warranty intact. Apple says repairs by Apple and Apple Authorized Service Providers are covered by Apple's warranty. Pakistan has no Apple Store. Mercantile Care describes itself as an Apple Authorized Service Provider with service centres in Lahore and Islamabad, open 10 AM to 6 PM, Monday to Friday, when we checked. Samsung lists its authorised service centres on its own Pakistan service locator.

Market shops in places like Hafeez Centre and Hall Road in Lahore, or Amma Tower in Saddar, Karachi, are usually quicker and cheaper. The trade-off is the part. A market shop may offer an original part, a part pulled from another phone, or a copy, and the price follows the grade.

  • Phone still under warranty: go to the brand's service centre first. An outside repair can cost you that warranty.
  • Water damage, a bent phone or a dead board: the authorised centre can tell you whether it is worth fixing at all.
  • Old phone out of warranty, simple battery job: a market shop can make sense, if you ask the questions below.

Original vs copy parts: what the words mean

Shops use 'original', 'OEM', 'A grade' and 'copy' loosely. Ask what the label means at that counter. For iPhones you can check the answer later: Apple says Settings > General > About shows a Parts and Service History section after a repair, and marks a part 'Genuine', 'Used' or 'Unknown'. An Unknown label can mean a non-genuine part, one that is not working as expected, or one that was never linked to your phone.

Apple also says a previously used part may show as 'Used', and that an Unknown part might affect the trade-in value. That matters in Pakistan, where many iPhones are resold.

Seven questions to ask any repair shop

Ask these before you leave the phone, and get the answers on the receipt.

  • Which exact part are you fitting: original, pulled from another phone, or copy?
  • What is the total price, including labour, written down before you start?
  • Is there a warranty on the part, for how long, and what does it not cover?
  • Can the repair be done in front of me, or how long will you keep the phone?
  • Will water resistance be resealed, or is it lost?
  • Will Face ID, Touch ID, True Tone or the camera still work afterwards?
  • Can I get my old part back?

PTA, IMEI and your data

A screen, battery or camera repair should not touch your phone's IMEI or PTA status. Any shop offering to 'patch' or change an IMEI is breaking the law: ProPakistani reported on 27 May 2025 that PTA and the NCCIA raided a Karachi repair shop for IMEI tampering and arrested three people. Check the IMEI with *#06# before and after the repair; it should not change.

Back up your phone before any repair, remove your SIM and memory card, and sign out of accounts you can. Samsung's own repair terms say it is not responsible for data loss during a screen repair or replacement.

Repair guides by problem

Each guide covers one fault, with the brand's own checks and the questions that matter for that part.

What about prices?

We have not printed a rupee price on this page. Apple does not publish Pakistan repair prices, and Samsung Pakistan's own repair price page showed only AED prices for Fold and Flip models when we checked on 13 October 2026. Market prices change with the part grade and the dollar rate, so get a written quote that names the part before any work starts.

Questions people ask

Where is the official iPhone repair centre in Pakistan?

Pakistan has no Apple Store. Mercantile Care describes itself as an Apple Authorized Service Provider with service centres in Lahore and Islamabad. Confirm the address and hours on its website before you go.

Where can I find an official Samsung service centre?

Use the service centre locator on Samsung Pakistan's website. Pick your city there; Samsung keeps that list itself, so it is more current than any directory.

How do I know if a repair shop used an original iPhone part?

On iPhone XR, XS and later, open Settings > General > About after the repair. Apple shows a Parts and Service History section that marks the part Genuine, Used or Unknown.

Does a market repair void my warranty?

It can. Apple says repairs by Apple and its Authorized Service Providers are covered by Apple's warranty. If your phone is still under warranty, go to the brand's service centre first.

Will a screen or battery repair affect PTA approval?

It should not. PTA status is tied to the IMEI, and a screen, battery or camera job does not change it. Check the IMEI with *#06# before and after the repair.
