Mobile Market Buner 2026: Used Phones, PTA Checks and Nearest Service
Last updated: 4 October 2026
What is the best mobile market in Buner?
Buner's phone markets appear in one news report we could find: an APP story from March 2020, in which a Swat dealer listed Buner among the Malakand mobile markets left deserted by the Covid lockdown. No distributor or brand lists a Buner shop. Swat (Mingora) and Mardan are the nearest cities with guides.
What the record shows
Pakistan Today carried an APP report on 29 March 2020 about Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's mobile phone trade. A Swat dealer said the mobile phone markets in Mingora, Dir Upper, Dir Lower, Buner and Chitral looked deserted during the lockdown, and dealers complained that accessory prices had roughly doubled because supplies from China had stalled.
That confirms Buner has a phone trade. It does not name a market, and it is six years old.
Service and shops
Airlink lists no Buner partner on its where-to-buy page (checked 4 October 2026). Carlcare, the service brand for Tecno, Infinix and itel, lists Mardan and Peshawar but not Buner or Swat (checked 3 October 2026). If you buy a brand new China phone in Buner, keep the bill and box for a warranty claim elsewhere.
Stolen phone check
Punjab's e-Gadget rules are for Punjab. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police have their own eGadget KPK app, published by PITB, which the Play Store listing says is for phone shopkeepers to record every device they sell, buy or repair, so police can search stolen devices by IMEI. It is a shopkeeper tool, so ask the counter whether your sale is recorded, and do your own 8484 check.
PTA check before you buy a phone in Buner
Check PTA status before you pay, not after.
Dial *#06# on the phone, match that IMEI to the box and the bill, then send the IMEI by SMS to 8484 before any money changes hands. The PTA status guide explains each reply. The News reported on 10 May 2024 that smuggled phones are 'patched' with duplicated or cloned IMEIs to get past PTA's DIRBS system, that patching is illegal under PECA 2016, and that PTA had blocked 35 million IMEIs by 30 December 2023. A patched phone can work today and be blocked later.
If a phone is non-PTA and you plan to register it yourself, look up the FBR amount in the PTA tax guide before you agree a price.
- Ask in plain words: PTA approved, non-PTA, or patched?
- Get a bill, or for a private sale a written note, with the IMEI, the price, the date and the seller's phone number.
- Put your own SIM in and make a call before you leave.
- For a second hand phone, test the screen, cameras, speakers, charging port and battery; the inspection guide has a checklist.

Listings on these pages come from individual sellers. A listing is not a shop, and the price is the seller's asking price, not a market rate. Meet in a public place in Buner and check the phone before you pay.
What we could not verify
We did not find official market timings, closed days, or a list of Buner phone shops on a brand, distributor, government or major news page. We have not copied shop names from map or directory sites, and we do not print market prices we cannot source.
